10 year anniversary

Celebrating 10 years since Chris Holmes joined the Champion Groundworks team
Chris first joined Champion in 2016 as Assistant Technical Services Manager. With his keen eye for detail, ability to build strong relationships and can-do attitude, it wasn’t long before he stepped into a leadership role within our adoptions team as our dedicated Adoptions Manager.
It’s an incredibly important role within the business. Chris manages key relationships with clients, highways teams, councils and service providers, while making sure our teams have the information they need to deliver smooth handovers for our clients.
Speaking about his role, Chris said:
“The Champion Groundworks team is a great one to be part of. Champion is always one step ahead, especially when it comes to processes and technology. We were the first groundworker in the region to have our own in-house CCTV drainage team, which is just one example of how we use technology to raise the quality of our work.
Champion sets the bar, and everyone else follows. I genuinely believe Champion is the best groundworks business in the South West. I’m extremely proud to be part of it, and I absolutely love my job. It’s so varied, no two days are the same, and I get to build strong relationships with people — something I’m really passionate about.”
Chris is one of the few lucky people in the business who works with absolutely everyone across the business, from our teams on site to our office teams across Devon and Cornwall.
If you’re part of Champion, you’ll know Chris. And we’re sure you’ll agree that we’re lucky to have such a knowledgeable, committed and passionate person in the team.
Thank you, Chris, for all your hard work and dedication over the last 10 years.
Here’s to many more anniversaries to come 👏
