Josh's Next Chapter

From Groundworks Apprentice to Engineering

We're delighted to share another exciting milestone in the career of one of our rising stars, Josh Andrews, who has officially joined our Engineering team!

‍

Earlier this year, we shared the news that Josh had begun a 12-month traineeship at our Liskeard head office, having successfully completed his Level 2 Groundworks Apprenticeship with us. The traineeship gave Josh the opportunity to spend time working alongside both our Quantity Surveying and Engineering teams, gaining valuable experience in each department before deciding which career path was right for him. And it seems Engineering came out on top!

‍

For Josh, the biggest appeal was the opportunity to continue spending most of his time out on site. While he knew a career as a groundworker wasn't quite for him, he still enjoys being part of the action! With Quantity Surveying being predominantly office-based, Engineering offered the perfect balance. It's also the variety that Josh enjoys. With more than 50 active sites across the South West, no two days are ever quite the same for our Engineering team. One day he could be setting out roads, the next working on plots, kerbs or any number of other tasks that help keep our projects moving.

‍

Alongside his new role, Josh has recently started studying towards his Level 4 HNC in Civil Engineering, taking another important step in his professional development.

‍

Josh's journey is a great example of how supporting our team to explore different opportunities can help our people discover where their strengths and interests really lie, and it turn creates opportunities for them to develop new skills along the way.

‍

A huge well done, Josh! We're incredibly proud of everything you've achieved since joining Team Champion, and we look forward to supporting you as you continue to develop your skills and build your career in Engineering.

‍

Here's to the next chapter! 👏
